Any places with a good game going? I've tried a few places I used to play, seems like a bunch of them are gone now.

If you see Silver Streak in a game, that's me.

Perhaps a gentle ping on this? Thanks!

The Link game has been re-set. It is now running Warzone terrain.  I also have recently run into a simmilar setup with ooii being shared by several systems thru DoorParty. If we don't want our wastelands to die off folks need to get out there and play.

There is an program for OOII that lets you create your own terrain as well as monsters. I know of two BBses that are running mapsets that their sysops created. (Jump and Ducross terrains) One of those boards has created a few new monsters. (I love killing Barrak Obama on that board.)  I believe the program is called OOEdit.exe but its been many years since I have taken a poke at using it.

I noted today that you installed 1.20. I look forward to playing a brand new mapset and fighting new monsters. I'll be keeping an eye out on your board.

I know this post is old, but is there still a multi-purpose editor for v1.20?

Hi all. Apparently someone out there has a link server that bbs'es are hooked up with that has OOII as one of the door games. I have run into approx 15ish separate systems that are linking a single mapset to play in. I just Killed OK in order to get the sysop to get rid of the vidland mapset.  If anybodys interested I can post some of the systems to log into.

I take it that means anything that FPC targets?

I have an ersatz kernel in the making and I thought I might give a go to porting overkill. It's 32 bit, so would run into the pointer bugs you mentioned.... Is the source somewhere accessible? Github or something like that? I could give a look at fixing some of the problems on macOS or Linux if nothing else.

Overkill is compilable on every platform where a suitable pascal compiler is available. The current list is:
  • MS-DOS
  • Windows
  • Linux
  • macOS

Currently only the DOS version is stable enough to run because the original code has some out-of-bounds bugs that crash on 32bit systems but wrap-over on the DOS version. It takes a really big and long game to show off these bugs and there just hasn't been enough players playing consistently to narrow down all of the cases well enough to fix them.

I would try asking on OOII's FB page as well. Dustin pokes his head in there from time to time.

Hi there, I was wondering if the source code for OO][ was available anywhere? I would love to try porting it to a new platform. Thanks!
