Hi... would like to introduce myself. I am perhaps getting to be the "old fart" of the bbs world. My name is Jim Haight and I go by "Jahmas". My nick goes back to the IRC days way before AIM, MSN, ICQ etc. Anyhow I have been running a Virtual Advanced BBS for over 5 years now since I discovered that Steve Winn was trying to resurrect this abandonware. I was running a WWIV dial-up bbs in Baltimore when it became evident that telnet was the way to go. In any event, I always liked Virtual Advanced because the setup was great and the built in scripting language made it a great learning tool for beginning programmers. Even if you didn't do any code at all, a newbie could do it. Sooooo, lemme cut to the quick and beg here. I had registered Operation Overkill a long time ago. Recently I separated from my wife and had to pack up my stuff and leave. Now that I have my board up and running I have to rebuild everything on a new PC. I lost my registration and wondered if I could get it back or get a new one. If you want, stop by and see the work in progress. I think the fun in bbs'ing is building it. "If you build it, they will come!" I am getting a good turn out for the LORD game and slowly adding more games depending on popularity. We also have an active network as Virtual Net is being resurrected. Also, Steve Winn has contacted the author of Virtual Advanced and is trying to get the source code. If anyone is interested, this is a great bbs platform which still has user support. So, come on and stop by telnet://majicka.at2k.org  Mysteria Majicka BBS (named after a book by Alester Crowley but that is another subject).
