I've noticed that this site is extremely sluggish.  Is the CPU spiked all the time or something?  Am I the only one experiencing the slow responses, or is everyone seeing this as well?

Suggestion: Host the site on a faster machine.

It's not just you, Scatter.  I'm getting sluggish responses as well...

But I'm just so thrilled to have an offical Overkill site, that I'm willing to overlook it while the site's still small.  Nevertheless, perhaps some extra bandwidth would help...  :?:

The ironic thing here is the solution is to move it from two T1's providing 3mbit to a line providing .3mbit.  However, that will still make it tons faster. Smiley

I'll post more news when this happens, but it should be roughly before thanksgiving.

Well, this isn't exactly a bandwidth intensive webiste.  The main concern is the CPU load on the host serving the content, and if that system is bogged down it doesn't matter how much bandwidth you have at your disposal.

I can't wait for the upgrade!

Don't forget that I access the website from a LAN connection.  For me there is no lag, the web pages come up instantly.

On the other hand I know for sure there is a problem with the internet connection here because connections to/from the website are spotty as well as to/from the BBS.

It looks like with a little bit of luck it could be moved next week.

Well, that shows you how much I know about web programming.  At any rate, it's good to hear that it'll be speeding up.

This should be much better now.  Anyone noticing anything better or worse?

Well...it's better but not really usable for me.  I'm just playing in the novice game and it's going by pretty fast, unfortunately where I think I hit the key and where it ends up stopping doesn't usually match up.  It's also hard to predict when to hit the key in advance.  Is it possible to maybe slow down the action scroll speed a little?
