Laptop?

I used to be addicted to this game about 10 years ago... amazing I finally found people still playing it. I just managed to get myself killed by falling through a hole without a rope, but glad to be playing again .

Anyway, I seem to remember being able to have a laptop in this game and sometimes you would find discs in the wastelands that would let you install new programs that did various useful things. It was very cool. Am I crazy or did that used to be a feature of this game? What happened to it?

And speaking of dying... would it be possible to make it so we don't have to wait until the next day to play when we die? Maybe an hour or two?

Yay for addiction!

I'm trying to move development from the BBS door game style of play to a stand-alone multiplayer server.

We haven't decided what the limits are going to be yet, but at the moment there is no delay from death to resurrection.

Honestly though there will have to be some penalties for dying in the final version.  After all people need time to find and loot your corpse!
