Cool, thanks for the tip.  Maybe I will find some time this winter to log in and do some mapping too.

a coupla years ago  telnet://bbs.memphistw.org  went down. It had a brand new mapset (Ducross) . I had to go back to mapping old-school style Smiley Every now and than I take a poke to see if its back up.. and tonight I was successful!  I quickly loged into OOII and the mapset is still there.  I have not fully mapped it so now I get a chance to do so Smiley

I took a peek at the game a coupla months ago and I seem to be hooked. I've even let a few of the bazillion OOII games I'm playing slide a bit. Its a cool game that is made to not suck too much time daily, but it takes  awhile to get around in to accomplish anything. I disagree with Dustin though. There are alot of stories abounding in this game. They are player driven though. The level of roleplaying is quite high, with feuds and PK'ing a normal bit of business. Its also an old game, at least 10yrs old.  Compared to OOII, movement is quite similar, as is the random creature encounters to kill. You can track them down to help find them though. The gamemap is HUGE though (compared to OOII) so even though there are others playing as well as yourself in real time, you don't run into others much (except in gathering places.) Their forums are not very active, so its really hard to see how many folks are playing, as you can't see who's loged into the game anywhere.

If anybody else wants to drop by and take a look at it, DF is based in York. I also have a pirate charactor based at the shipwreck.

I wouldn't mind seeing that DG. If you posted it here earlier, I probably read it. I am curious about the bugs part. I refuse to use bugs, but I like to understand what they do. Now and then I see someone that I can't see how they got to where they are game-timeline wise. I realize they could just be a better player than myself.... ow that hurt to say.  But in hearing others experiences in the game I'm always up to learn.

I have an FAQ I created a while back.  I thought I posted it on here somewhere.  There are some bugs in the game that I mentioned too.  If interested I can see if I still have it on my hard drive and send it to you or post.

battlestarbbs.dyndns.org - gauntlet map - 30 minutes/4 hour between plays

convolution.us - BLIZE map - unlimited time/no delay

bbs.pharcyde.org - slow text-delay makes game unplayable - MALKIRE map

Anyone else active?

Well, that's not cool -- someone overwrite the entry somehow... ?

One of the Wikipedia rules is that members involved with the project can't contribute to the page. Extremely annoying for stuff like this since the historical accuracy is the most important part.

I found the one that was overwritten. Some guy came along and said the sources were not valid sources.

Hey Dwarfy, thanks for the axe hail. I started a simple version on Wikipedia, and it was approved. So, now it can be modified if you have a Wikipedia basic account!
